GAEILGE SA BHAILE / IRISH AT HOME
This programme was launched in November 2015 and consists of a set of 9 books and a CD written by Áine Andrews, ex-principal Gaelscoil na bhFál, and 4 workshops. Through the programme parents learn phrases that can be used at home with the children such as ‘Maidin mhaith. Tá sé in am duit éirí.’ (Good morning. It’s time for you to get up.) and ‘Oíche mhaith. Gabh a chodladh.’ (Good night. Go to sleep.)
Each book is bright and colourful with Irish, English and phonics which parents and children can enjoy. The feedback from participants of the programme has been very positive to date. If you would like to learn more about this programme please email Mary Peoples, email@example.com.
The Branch also organises advice and support such as mentoring for parents who wish to build the level of use of Irish within the home. Again if you are interested in finding out more about this please contact Mary Peoples, firstname.lastname@example.org .
